Multilayer Fabric

3D orthogonal fabric is made of E-glass, as well as S-glass, Kevlar and other high-performance fibers. They have three direction yarns. Excluding Z binder yarns, warp and weft keep direct naturally in the fabric, which would to the maximal degree, keep original mechanical properties of fibers. So they have excellent destructive resistance, including impact resistance and low-velocity impact tolerance, in comparison with 2D laminate, interlaminar stiffness and strength of 3D orthogonal fabric show significant improvements.  

                                

Features:

2. Excluding binder yarns, warps and wefts keep direct naturally in the fabric , which would, to the maximal degree, keep original mechanical properties of fibers.

3. Compared with multiaxial warp-knitted fabric, special process method would make sure a high fiber volume content conductive to improvements of mechanical properties of composites.

4. Simple moulding process contributes to saving comprehensive cost. In comparison with 2D laminate, it could save considerable labor and time without plying when it comes to moulding.

5. Faster infusion rates, owing to direct array of fibers and the existence of fibers along Z-direction, it is easier to be infused. With RTM technique, the infusion rates of 3D orthogonal fabric are several times faster than those of 2D fabric.

6. Binder yarns in multiaxial warp-knitted fabric are adopted with high-performance polyester industrial yarn which binding property with resins is poorer than fiberglass used as binder yarns in 3D orthogonal fabric, after moulding,  the composite performs better mechanical properties as a result.
